The Pink Granite Coast puts company visits in the spotlight

As part of the 5th edition of the “Semaines du Tourisme Économique et des Savoir-Faire” (Weeks of Economic Tourism and Know-How), the businesses and craftsmen of the Pink Granite Coast are opening their doors to you and letting you discover their trades and know-how!

What are economic tourism and know-how weeks?

Know-how and industrial heritage are a strong vector for development and tourist appeal. It is on the basis of this observation that the Côte de Granit Rose Tourist Office has chosen to continue its participation in the Semaines du Tourisme Économique & des Savoir-Faire en Bretagne, from 20 October to 2 November 2025.

The purpose of the event: to invite the public, tourists and residents alike, to discover or rediscover the behind-the-scenes stories of the businesses and craftspeople who make up the identity of the region and Trégor.

The Pink Granite Coast, a land of innovation and talent

With Lannion as the economic capital of the Trégor, the Pink Granite Coast is a major economic hub in Brittany. Revealed with the arrival of the telecoms industry in the 1960s, Lannion has contributed enormously to the economic and industrial development of the Pink Granite Coast. The town is the cradle of telecommunications and numerous digital innovations.

Today, Lannion is home to companies with national and international reputations, with a rich and varied network of small and medium-sized businesses and industries. Their activities are diverse and ensure balanced and sustainable development of the region, at the crossroads of cutting-edge technologies and growth sectors that coexist and develop. These include defence, energy, health, the environment, agri-food, shipbuilding and tourism.

.

A talent for sharing know-how

Innovation is a state of mind here, and the region is a hotbed of talent that loves to share its knowledge. That’s why you’ll be able to push open the doors of companies like : La Distillerie Ar Roc’h, which produces spirits, including gin, in La Roche-Jaudy in a former wine and cider trading building, Imprimerie IMPRAM in Cavan, which publishes the newspaper Le Trégor and some fifty other titles, Le Centre de Météorologie Spatiale – Météo-France in Lannion, …

A hotbed of the arts and thought

A singular and enlightened territory from which exceptional beings spring, the Pink Granite Coast has emerged over time as a hotbed of the arts and thought that has shaped the destination and contributed to its architectural and craft wealth. Tréguier, episcopal city and former historic capital of Trégor has a lot to do with this. But many artists’ and craftsmen’s shops also liven up the town centres of many other communes.
In fact, the coastline, and more particularly the arrival of sea bathing in the 19th century, as well as the flax, slate, seaweed and stone trades, have long enabled the region to shine and attract men of letters, scientists, artists and craftsmen.<Today, many passionate professionals with unique skills are still happy to present the secrets of their trade and their handcrafted products. This is the case of Pauline Le Goïc, who creates or restores stained glass windows by hand, incorporating modern touches, or Louis Chelin, a blacksmith and cutler who will show you all the stages involved in making a knife, as well as Mohair Breizh, an angora goat breeder who offers 100% made in France woollen clothing in her shop, as well as balls of wool for sewing enthusiasts.
