The site
Loved as much by birds as walkers in search of nature and a more secretive Brittany, the Bizien estuary was once home to a small port of goémoniers, the seaweed gatherers. Today, nestling at the head of the estuary is the authentic little market town of Pouldouran, which has retained its charm and character. Between land and sea, freshwater and saltwater, the scenery changes with the tides and is home to a specific flora and fauna.
A number of hiking trails start from the Maison des talus et des routoirs à lin and enable you to discover the estuary and the Bizien valley, as well as a rich rural heritage with its sunken paths, talus walls and other flax routoirs.
