Numerous archaeological remains can be found here, including burial mounds and enclosures from the Neolithic and Gaulish periods. In the market town of Cavan, visit the parish church, dedicated to Saint-Chéron or Saint-Garan. Stop off to take a look at the manor house of Bois-Riou, seat of the ancient seigneury of the same name, and admire its ornately carved doors, its entrance gate and its corbelled loophole.
