Idea no. 1: Getting together as a family

Enjoying your holiday in Brittany as a family is great. But finding something to keep the kids occupied when it’s raining is even better! Good news: in Brittany, there are plenty of activities to enjoy with the kids… while staying well out of the rain!

The to-do list of things to do with the family in Brittany:

Bowling: the youngest has his first strikes in his sights!!

Sports: more climbing or indoor football for you?

Elopirate : let the kids set sail in an indoor pirate-themed theme park.

La Cité des Télécoms : enjoy a unique experience with the kids in the immersive Radôme course, themed Back to the Future.

An Escape Game : an unusual and friendly game, where you try to escape to get an aperitif to share with the family! An Escape Game to say the least… festive.

Idea no. 2: Make a canvas

More comedy or thriller? Drama or adventure? Whatever you fancy, a rainy day is ideal for perfecting your film culture on the Pink Granite Coast. Comfortably installed in an armchair, you’ll be fishing for popcorn (with salted butter caramel). It’s better to be here than out there: it’s a no-brainer.

Practical info: Go to the cinéma Les Baladins, near the centre of Lannion or to the cinéma le Douron in Plestin for the next screening!

Idea no. 3: Discover nature from the inside

Who said you had to be outside to discover the secrets of Brittany’s nature? Certainly not us! On the Pink Granite Coast, while the rain is in full swing, set off to meet the most beautiful animals of the seabed, reach for the stars at the Planetarium or play naturalist on the Ile Grande!

L’Aquarium Marin de Trégastel: Here’s an aquatic visit that’s just in time! Young and old go on guided tours, discovery outings or to meet the marine animals of the English Channel such as rays and dogfish in this superb aquarium in Brittany.

La station LPO de l’Ile Grande: Head to the Sept-Îles National Nature Reserve, more specifically to its museum, to explore a space entirely dedicated to the marine world. The highlight of the visit will be the breathtaking view of the gannet colony! It’s a great way to keep warm while keeping an eye on Brittany’s biodiversity.

The Planetarium of Brittany: Your holiday on the Pink Granite Coast will be filled with the stars, particularly during the 10 astronomy shows on offer at the Planetarium of Brittany. Ready to travel to the infinite and beyond?

Idea No. 4: Warm up around the traditions of Brittany

Fermentation, maturing, brewing… If these terms are unfamiliar to you, it’s a sign that you need to visit a distillery on the Pink Granite Coast! After learning all about the workings of the trade, a tasting session will take centre stage… No doubt about it, Brittany’s got you covered!

Our favourite visits in the region:

* Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, consume in moderation.

Idea no. 5: Try your hand at creative activities

If art is second nature to you: roll up your sleeves, you’ve got your work cut out with Brittany’s multitude of creative activities! Whether it’s soap, seaweed cooking or pottery, our passionate craftspeople will be revealing their trade secrets to the whole family – and that’s just the Breton way!

Our favourites in Brittany:

La Savonnerie de l’Intendant: Not very good with your hands? No one will pass you a bar of soap: instead, you’ll be taught how to make one during this activity! Colour, scent, texture: it lathers up when it rains in Brittany!

Atelier Laurence H: Fancy getting your hands dirty in the clay? Laurence H offers ceramics courses and workshops all year round in her cosy studio! You’ll also find some beautiful creations: unique ceramics and jewellery made from abalone mother-of-pearl and fish leather.

Tonnellerie Lefloc’h: In Lannion, discover the only cooper from Brittany: Benjamin Lefloch, master of the barrel and heir to barrel-making expertise! The cooperage is a partner of the Warenghem distillery.

Atelier Moca: Fancy going “Ghost” on a rainy afternoon? Take a romantic break and try your hand at the art of pottery. It’s so satisfying to see your creation come to life at your fingertips!

Idea no. 6: Treat yourself to a gourmet break

What better way to fill up on specialities than at a good Breton address? While it’s raining outside, you can warm your body and taste buds with tasty treats! Far breton or kouign-amann, which will you start with?

Get your feet under the table in Brittany:

  • Le Truc Café: Between two tastings of local produce, have fun with the board games provided.
  • Café Théodore: This space, with its end-of-the-world feel, invites you to indulge in a voyage of discovery.

Idea No. 7: Rendezvous with Brittany’s history

Idea No. 8: Bubble in an aquatic area

If you’re not a fan of the rain, but you’re not afraid of getting wet, head for an aquatic area in Brittany! Covered and (above all) heated, it’s the ideal place to watch your figure while doing a few lengths in the pool… Or to take it easy in the spa area. Which will you choose? We’ll let you make up your own mind!

All things glide here:

50 shades of glav

The Bretons have been rubbing shoulders with rain for so long, they’ve had the opportunity to study it well. I might as well tell you that the Bretons have studied rain well! They’ve even created a word for each of its subtleties:

Glav bihan: Drizzle (which apparently gives a pretty complexion, by the way!).

Glav bras: Heavy rain.

Glav pill: Driving rain.

Glav pill polos: The real deluge.

Besides, we’ll help you pack a suitcase ready for anything just here!!
