Randonnee En Vallee Du Leguer
|
From Belle-Isle-en-Terre, you can swap the tarmac for a bucolic path along the River Léguer. The former papeterie vallée industrial site has been transformed into a natural setting: where machines once turned, calm and birdsong now reign. The renaturation project has breathed new life into this unspoilt corner of memory and biodiversity. The former dam at Kernansquillec bears witness to this. At Trégrom, the river holds out its arms to you: lunch by the water, a siesta in the shade or an invigorating dip – the choice is yours.

From Plouaret, the GR de Pays Trégor Goëlo takes on the air of a country walk. The Saint-Maudez fountain rests in a verdant setting, while the Chapelle des Sept-Saints whispers its legends to anyone who will listen. Before long, the Léguer picks up the thread: wild river, wooded banks, silences full of life. And here are the ruins of themedieval castle of Tonquédec, whose ruins standing on their promontory take you back to the time of the knights. As you approach the historic town of Lannion, your pace slows. Here, you walk to move forward, but also to feel.

The path follows the old railway line through the Stanco valley, then crosses the Trégor countryside. At the end of the route, the bay of Perros-Guirec opens up: the Etang du Lenn, lined with pebbles and sand, and the bustling port offer a charming finish, between Breton spirit and sea air.

Take a break to relax on the beach at Trégrom, then head for the Chapelle des Sept-Saints and the châteaux of Kergrist and Tonquédec. And finally, off to Lannion: a diversion to Brélévenez is a must, if only for the breathtaking views over the town and the valley.
