Brélévenez Church

Lannion

Perched on the heights above Lannion, the Church of the Holy Trinity in Brélévenez overlooks the whole town and is impossible to miss from the quayside. From the viewing platform in its cemetery, it offers a remarkable panoramic view of the entire town. The church dates from the 12th century and is said to have been founded by the Knights Templar. Inside, a beautiful 12th-century Romanesque crypt bears witness to its past, alongside a chancel and a nave – among the oldest parts of the building – which are a major draw for many visitors.

Saint-Gonery Chapel

Plougrescant

Saint-Gonéry Chapel, in the heart of the village of Plougrescant, is dedicated to a healing monk of the same name who came from across the Channel.
Recently restored, the remarkable Romanesque-style ceiling paintings, depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments, make the chapel a monument to our history and a jewel of our heritage. Thanks to a team of volunteers, the chapel remains open for free visits, either self-guided or with a guide.

Notre-Dame du Yaudet Chapel

Ploulec’h

Situated on a headland with a breathtaking view of Lannion Bay, the chapel was built in the 11th century on the ruins of a Roman temple. It was subsequently destroyed and then rebuilt in the 19th century. Originally a church that became a chapel over the years, it has long been a destination for pilgrimages and an annual ‘pardon’, a tradition that is still alive today.
It houses a feature unique to the region: an altarpiece depicting the Virgin Mary reclining on a bed of lace.

Chapel of the Seven Saints

Old Market

The chapel is situated in the Old Market. Dating from the 18th century, this site – unique in France – honours the Seven Sleeping Saints of Ephesus, a legend shared by both Christian and Muslim traditions. Every fourth Sunday in July, a traditional pilgrimage still brings the faithful together in an atmosphere steeped in history and shared spirituality. Statues depicting the Seven Saints can be found in the crypt.

Saint-Tugdual Cathedral

Tréguier

A truly beautiful cathedral dedicated to one of the seven founders of Brittany, Tugdual, a Welsh monk, and one of the finest religious buildings in Brittany. It is an unmissable visit whilst in Tréguier. You’ll be impressed by its size, and once inside you can admire the splendour of its furnishings, ceilings, stained-glass windows and numerous statues… A visit to the cloister is a must afterwards and will offer you a moment of contemplation amongst the many recumbent statues.

The Chapel of Christ

Trébeurden

This building, situated in the commune of Trébeurden, is also known as Notre-Dame de Pitié. Built on a hillock, it offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the islets. Although simple in appearance from the outside, it was remodelled in the 18th century, as evidenced by the date 1770 engraved on its façade. Inside, a few simple statues depict the Virgin Mary, Saint John and Christ on the cross, set against a stone altar. Today, the chapel also hosts exhibitions by local artists.
