The Sillon de Talbert, a unique site in Europe
Conservatoire du Littoral site classified as a regional reserve. A coastal strip of sand and pebbles stretching 3.2 km out to sea, the Sillon is a geomorphological curiosity, unique in Europe for its size. Ecologically rich thanks to its extraordinary flora and fauna, the Sillon is an important nesting site for seabird species (gravelots) and a migration and wintering ground for many waders, making it a major birdwatching spot in the Côtes d’Armor. Once linked to the islets of Olonne, the sillon is constantly on the move, changing with the flow of water and the availability of sand and pebbles. Like a mineral tongue with a free end.
