Straddling the communes of Pouldouran and Troguéry, this collection of retting mills bears witness to the important flax industry in the Rochois region. These basins were used for retting flax, an operation that involves separating the bark from the flax stalks to release the fibres. Used for several centuries, this retting method was banned for good at the end of the 19th century due to pollution concerns, and was replaced by floor retting. Since the 1990s, the association ‘L'école des talus’ has been working to preserve and promote this heritage by restoring the retting machines and setting up tours around 19 retting machines, grouped together on five sites, including the one in Gwuenored cove.
A group of three mills probably built between the 17th and 18th centuries, on the municipal boundary, in the Gwenored cove, on the banks of the Jaudy estuary. Approximately rectangular, the basins are built of dry stone with a paved base.
