Go on an adventure in Morlaix and explore the Science Centre nestling in the heart of the former tobacco factory. Embark on a fascinating journey through the industrial history of the site and the sciences.
A place steeped in history
The Morlaix Tobacco Factory was designed in the 18th century by the King's architect, Jean-François Blondel. Here you can admire the restored machinery, testimony to three centuries of human ingenuity and effort. Don't miss the tobacco grinder room, now a listed historic monument, which was used to produce snuff. Interactive exhibitions and immersive scenography reveal the history of the men, women and children who worked within these walls.
Exhibitions for the curious
As you wander through the eight exhibition halls, you'll be able to enjoy the richness and diversity of scientific discovery, through observation, experimentation, fun and multimedia. You'll be amazed by Foucault's pendulum, the huge interactive globe, and the geological history of the Armorican massif.
A journey to the stars
Under the roof of the Manufacture, the Garden of the Planets invites you to take a celestial stroll. Guided by the soothing voice of Hubert Reeves, you can explore the wonders of the solar system and the constellations.
The workshop for children
The workshop is specially designed for children aged 6 and over, offering a space for discovery and learning for all the family. 10 interactive modules will spark your curiosity with experiments on the mechanics of movement, the physics of materials, electricity and light.
