The church, built between 1511 and 1548 and formerly dedicated to Notre-Dame, replaced the chapel of the former fortified castle of Lannion. Although it originally comprised just a nave and two narrow aisles, from 1580-90 it was adorned with chapels built by brotherhoods.

Renovation work in the 19th century revealed an intact vault with an inverted hull, dating from the 16th century. It features symbols relating to the maritime domain, as well as painted ermine tails, the symbol of Brittany's independence.

Hidden during the French Revolution, four of the five statues of the Holy Family from the Ursuline chapel were installed in the church around 1825.
The church also boasts a fine series of Art Deco stained glass windows by Henri Marcel Magne, the award-winning painter who created the stained glass windows of the Montmartre Basilica in Paris.
It has a number of altars: the Five Wounds, the Cross, Our Lady of the Agonising, Saint-Michel, Saint-Nicolas, etc.

Before 1600, a rood screen, traces of which can still be seen, stood in the nave. It was replaced in the 17th century by a beautiful pulpit depicting the great Doctors of the Latin Church and the Gospels.

An imposing organ case dating from 1601 was restored in 1972 and features 37 stops, divided between 3 manual keyboards with 56 notes and a pedalboard with 30 notes.

Outside the monument, you can see the imposing calvary built in 1867 by Yves Hernot. For nearly 3 generations, the Hernot family's aim in the 19th century was to ‘raise up the churches of Trégor and populate the roads with calvaries’. They were responsible for building 967 calvaries and crosses.
This calvary is quite glorious, as it travelled all the way to Paris for the 1867 Universal Exhibition, where it won first prize for sculpture. It consists of a large kersantite cross and a monolithic shaft. The whole is carved from a single block of rock, and features 12 columns and a phylactery, which have been removed from the shaft of the cross.
