Set in an outstanding natural environment and attached to the town of Lannion, the church in Loguivy-lès-Lannion is under the patronage of Ivy, a 7th-century Celtic monk whose cult spread to many of the places to which he gave his name. A fountain dedicated to Saint Ivy, located nearby on the banks of the Léguer, is said to have miraculous virtues. It was said to have miraculous virtues, and was invoked to cure children's colic: their shirts were thrown into the pool, and if they floated, they would be cured...

On the site of the place of worship founded by Saint Ivy in the 7th century stands a fine building in the flamboyant Gothic style, built between the 15th and 17th centuries. The building takes on the characteristics of Trégorroise architecture, such as the bell tower-wall on the western facade and the parish enclosure made entirely of local granite from Le Yaudet! Within the building itself, some jewels still reveal the religious importance of the place: several polychrome wooden statues and an imposing 12m² carved oak altarpiece of the Nativity, dating from the Louis XIII period.

The site's liveliness can be explained mainly by one object, a marvel of Breton silverware: the arm-reliquary of Saint Ivy. Donated by the Lords of Kergomar, who also founded the church, it is the reason why so many pilgrims came here. Stone benches built into the wall still bear witness to their visit.

Two fountains stand out in this ensemble, one against the enclosure, the other inside the cemetery. The latter is a remarkable Renaissance fountain dating from 1577, with a basin topped by an elegant column crowned with a dome.

The church is currently closed for renovation. The ‘Loguivy-lès-Lannion’ association, ARSSAT (Association pour la Recherche et la Sauvegarde des Sites Archéologiques du Trégor), the DRAC and the Regional Council are working alongside the municipality of Lannion to pass on this heritage and keep it alive. A cultural life is also organised within the walls of the church, notably through guided tours in the footsteps of Saint Ivy and the legends that still enliven the site.
