Cyprès de Lambert

  • Remarkable tree
Maison "Les Sapins", Rue de Kergus, 22310 Plestin-les-Grèves
Originally from the Californian coast, the Lambert cypress was a great success on the Breton coast from the second half of the 19th century.
It is one of the oldest Lambert cypresses introduced to Brittany. With its exceptional wingspan (23 m) and girth (13 m), this specimen is one of the most colossal trees in France. The annual growth of this exotic species has been ‘out of the ordinary’ and has few equivalents (of any tree species) in Europe. It is estimated to be 160 years old.
