Legend has it that John IV, Duke of Brittany, founded it ‘in commemoration of his victory at Auray over his adversary Charles de Blois’. Others claim that it was built by the monks of Bégard. Also known as Notre Dame de Kergonan, after the valley in which it was built, most of the church was rebuilt in 1670 and 1687, with some repairs in 1827. Inside, you can admire a beautiful altarpiece topped with twisted columns, depicting the Virgin Mary in a seascape. Two statues surround this altar, Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin, Our Lady of Good News, around which numerous ex-votos show the great devotion that sailors still show her. It was listed as a historic monument in November 1952. Open at service times. Location: rue de Bonne nouvelle (200m from the Tourist Office)
