Alone or with your tribe

After strolling along the customs path and lazing on the sand, we ventured out onto the water. “We’re by the sea and we’re not even going out on it!” says Martin, my son, like a challenge. And he’s right. So the adventure is at the end of the beach and the choice is easy with #capitained1jour: a brochure, 9 ideas for sea or river trips and a reservation at any tourist office and that’s it: for us it will be a small sailboat, with family and skipper. Between the Bag an holl in Trébeurden and the Fillao in Perros-Guirec, the choice is difficult: these two boats are rock-solid and every trip they offer is worth a diversion.

Boarding at Trébeurden

We opt for the one at Trébeurden, departing from the port, boarding for grandad with his walking stick is easier.
We climb aboard! First surprise: nothing moves! Our hearts beat a little faster, but we were completely safe, well looked after by Christophe our guide.

The Pink Granite Coast seen from the sea

We who are complete neophytes are already hoisting the sails. The boat glides gently, silently, and the coast from the sea looks so different in this light. Even wilder! And the marine life that we approach around Molène Island is there to confirm it.

Taking the helm and being #captainained1day

My husband, boosted by the iodine air, takes on the role of a long-distance sailor for a moment and decides to take the helm. Under Christophe’s guidance – which also reassures me – he takes us safely back to our starting point, happy and proud. Moments immortalised on our mobile phones. Here, #capitained1jour takes on its full meaning.

We’ll be doing this again during our stay. We’re hesitating between speed and slowness.

On the sand, I’m looking for sensations

Either sand yachting at the Plestin-les-Grèves nautical centre: here’s to the great expanses of sand on Saint Efflam beach, full steam ahead. All bets are off for whoever gets their wheels off the ground first!!!

A river runs through the middle

…Or a leisurely kayak trip down the Léguer river from the Sports Nature centre in Lannion. There’s no torrent here, just a wild river lined with ancient trees. Our mood and the weather will decide.

I’ve checked that the Pink Granite Coast is also exceptional from the sea!
