A day in Trégastelon the Pink Granite Coast

The Presqu’île Renote

The big day has arrived! A final check of the rucksack, water bottle and cakes are all present. We put on one last piece of clothing and that’s it, the family is finally ready to discover another jewel of this Côte de Granit Rose. So, with a final push, we motivate the troops, dress warmly and set off on our adventure!

A breath of fresh air!

Today, we’re heading for Trégastel. Here, granite chaos and stretches of water put on a show to the delight of the whole family. The promise of discovering an island with sumptuous landscapes is always welcomed by the family. Now the kids are more motivated than ever! Barely out of the car, they grab their fishing gear, quickly strap their backpacks over one shoulder and rush to the beach.

A corner of paradise

After just a few steps, you almost forget that the parking lot is just a few meters away. Birdsong, sea spray and nature take over from everyday sounds. This is what we came for! Granite blocks, some as big as cars, seem to be piled haphazardly on top of each other, as if they’ve just fallen from the sky. The astonishment is at its peak! The kids love it! They have fun climbing and scaling the various rocks, imagining themselves to be the biggest in the world.

Let your imagination run wild!

We find a place to rest. The children are out of breath and need a break. Sitting and watching the sea, they let their imaginations run riot and give different names to the unbelievably shaped rocks, sometimes resembling animals, sometimes everyday objects. They come in all shapes and sizes.

A fairytale castle

In the distance, they soon notice the splendid Costaérès castle and the famous Ploumana’ch lighthouse.

Gourmet break!

At the end of the morning, we chose to stop off at “Le Transat” restaurant. The kids couldn’t take their eyes off the sea! So this seaside restaurant was the perfect solution. Here, quality is the order of the day, to the delight of the whole family! The view is splendid, the food is good and the kids are happy! I’ve even heard that in the evening, the sun puts on a magnificent show before setting. We’ll be back for more!

Great rocks! Perfect for a mega giga game of hide-and-seek!

The marine aquarium of

Trégastel

At the start of each day, the program is announced. The kids can’t wait! They know what we’re going to do this afternoon. Their cameras are ready! They’re already buzzing! They can’t wait to discover Breton marine species! The visit begins, and they’re soon in awe of the marine animals. In this space, they are totally immersed, much to their delight! What makes the aquarium so special? It was built on a legendary site of granite chaos, making for a unique experience!

These are rare moments when they even take the time to read the descriptions of the various fish in front of them! The tour ends with a splendid view of the Pink Granite Coast! I can still hear the children uttering a “Pouaah”! It’s decided, we’ll be back. A real family outing is not to be missed!
