Tonquédec Castle

Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages

With its eleven towers, drawbridge, bailey and machicolations, the Château de Tonquédec looks straight out of a history book! Add to these military relics a few replicas of medieval armor, and you’ve got a visit where children’s imaginations know no bounds! At last, a castle where knights and princesses for a day can explore the nooks and crannies, and discover hidden rooms at the turn of a staircase!
Not to be missed: the exceptional view over the wooded Léguer valley from the top of the two main keeps.

Timeless strolls

Same era, different atmosphere at Château de La Roche-Jagu. Overlooking the Trieux estuary, it’s a proud stone vessel planted on its rocky spur, in the middle of a marvellous park.
Inside, the monumental fireplaces, the parapet walk and the well-presented framework provide a timeless setting for high-quality artistic and multi-sensory exhibitions.

Rosanbo Castle

A classic gem along the way

For over 500 years in the same family, Château de Rosanbo in Lanvellec is the majestic witness to six centuries of architectural evolution.
Guided tours of the remarkably furnished residence take us back to the daily life of a château in 18th and 19th century Brittany. Special mention must be made of the library and its thousands of bindings!
The park, designed by Achille Duchêne, Vaux le Vicomte’s landscape gardener, features an incredible 2.5 km-long arched bower. One of the longest in France, it is the most charming feature of this French garden, classified as a Remarkable Garden.

Château de Kergrist

An estate in the heart of the Léguer Valley

At the end of its long driveway, Château de Kergrist, with its octagonal tower and listed facades, has the charm of a fine family home that has evolved over time.

After a visit to the seigneurial apartments, which contain treasures such as wood panelling from Beauport Abbey and paintings by master craftsmen, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Léguer Valley from the terrace garden. A 9 km walk will take you through the woods to the estate’s chapel, then on to its old mill. Finally, following the granite-strewn Léguer, you’ll reach… the château de Tonquédec, on the opposite bank!
