Yuna Le Meur, waste hunt organiser

This twenty-second interview takes us to meet Yuna Le Meur, a passionate young woman who has embarked on a singular mission: the hunt for waste. At just 24 years of age, Yuna embodies an unwavering determination to raise awareness of environmental protection in her community, while pursuing her own career aspirations.

Parole de Breizh, invites you to discover the Côte de Granit Rose through encounters with those who live Brittany, transform it, cultivate it. These ambassadors are craftsmen, artists, producers… but above all, inhabitants of the Trégor. They love the Côte de Granit Rose and explain why growing the essentials is so important!

A native of Landrellec, Yuna followed an artistic course in applied arts at the Savina à Tréguier lycée before specialising in a Product Design degree à Brest.</It was during this degree, in her final year, that her idea of creating a waste-hunting application came to fruition. Having always been concerned about protecting the environment, she seized the opportunity to carry out a personal project as part of her studies. Her objective was clear: to use technology to raise awareness of the problem of waste, while offering a fun and educational experience.

She has always been interested in protecting the environment.

Launching the project

With the support of local partners such as Kokozenn and Trébeurden town council, Yuna has used a cultural treasure hunt application to create an innovative waste-hunting tool. Users follow a circuit in search of different areas and therefore different types of waste, answer questions about the environmental impact and raise money to clean up certain sites. Yuna’s project has won several competitions, giving her greater visibility and funding to pursue her initiative. However, she recognises the challenges she faces as a dynamic entrepreneur, particularly in terms of communication and development.

I’ve always had an environmental bent, […] when I went for a walk I always picked up litter

A voluntary commitment

Yuna’s Chinese portrait

If you ét a élément? “Water If you could think of a colour? Blue” If you were to name a season, “Spring” If you were to name a word, “Grateful”? “Grateful” And if you were to name a Breton animal? “The silver land”

Cultivating the essential

What does the phrase « Cultiver l’essentiel » inspire in you? For Yuna, cultivating the essential means finding that &eute;quilibre between her professional projects and her personal commitment to the environment and her community.

Cultivating my essential, this year, ça has éa to leave me time for this côté entrepreneurial while continuing my bénévolat à the LPO
