Esteban
Or: A Holiday of DiscoveryEsteban is a student in Lyon. One of his friends, who is from Lannion on the Pink Granite Coast, has told him time and again about the beauty and attractions of her home region. Convinced, he booked his train ticket to the Pink Granite Coast for a 10-day summer holiday!
His friend had told him, “You’ll see, it’s a magnificent place, perfect for relaxing but where you can also enjoy all sorts of activities!” And indeed, Esteban wasn’t disappointed:
He took his first surfing lesson in Perros-Guirec. Despite the rainy weather, he loved the feeling of gliding along the waves and is keen to do it again.

He also went sea kayaking in Trébeurden. As the tide ebbed and flowed, the kayaking trip gave him a chance to enjoy a taste of the sea air in complete tranquillity. He and his girlfriend stopped off on the island of Molène for a picnic in the sunshine in an idyllic setting.
He also had the chance to try his hand at yoga. The class took place on Plougrescant beach, right by the water’s edge. “It was just wow!”

Curious and a keen foodie, Esteban was keen to discover Breton cuisine. He dined at several restaurants and sampled a variety of local specialities: seafood, crêpes and galettes… But his favourite was the Michelin-starred restaurant, the Manoir de Lan Kerellec in Trébeurden, where he enjoyed a wonderful experience with perfectly executed surf-and-turf dishes, in a dining room with refined décor and offering an exceptional view of the sea and the Trégor islands.
A nice, refreshing swim revives both body and mind, giving you a great start to the day!
He also enjoyed the nightlife with his friends. Esteban had always thought of Brittany as a destination for families and older people. But his friends introduced him to places where young people get together to party; and on the Pink Granite Coast, there’s no shortage of lively bars and live music! We chat, we clink glasses, we laugh, and we dance!
Would you recommend the Pink Granite Coast?
1000%, I’m already telling everyone I know about it – I absolutely loved my stay and I’ll definitely be back!
What does the phrase ‘Focus on the essentials’ mean to you?
For me, ‘cultivating the essentials’ on the Pink Granite Coast means going for a swim and enjoying the sea, getting together with friends, and savouring simple moments in a magnificent setting!

Mathilde
And his tribe

Mathilde and her little family live in the Toulouse area. Every year they come to spend some time in Brittany to visit family, and every year they rediscover the region.
To plan their trip, they consulted the Tourist Office’s website, which Mathilde described as “extremely well-designed and inspiring”; as a result, she didn’t feel the need to visit the Tourist Office in person, as she was able to find all the information she needed online.
When they came to the Pink Granite Coast, the family’s plan was to relax, go for walks and, above all, spend time together as a family. And that’s exactly what they did. They were also lucky enough to enjoy a sunny week with mild temperatures, a far cry from the sweltering heat of Toulouse! They were able to go on a few walks, such as the Sentier des Douaniers and the towpath in Lannion; they visited a few markets and, as always, were won over by the local produce.

Of course, they spent a few days at the beach, so the children were able to enjoy a swim in the sea and jump off the diving boards! They also wanted to check out the open-air café in Plestin-les-Grèves, where a concert was being held: a lovely evening of music – simple and friendly!
“We’ve had a really full week – just like the galettes we’ve been enjoying!”
Would you recommend the Pink Granite Coast?
Yes, because the scenery is exceptional and there’s a huge range of activities to enjoy in the surrounding area. What’s more, the sites are extremely well preserved and maintained.
What were your favourite highlights?
We loved our afternoons on the beach at Trébeurden – the sand is so soft! We also enjoyed visiting the historic centre of Lannion and admiring the pretty half-timbered houses. As for walks, our favourite was the tour of Île Grande – peaceful and magnificent!
What does the phrase ‘Cultiver l’essentiel’ mean to you?
It reminds me of the return to our roots that we can experience when we come here. Simple, lovely moments, with the people we love!
Philippe and Patricia
The joy of coming backPhilippe and Patricia live in a small village in Isère, at the foot of the mountains but a long way from the sea.
Their first holiday in southern Brittany in 2021 had immediately won them over, and they’d both promised each other they’d return to the region one day. As their son’s girlfriend is from the Côte de Granit Rose, it was the perfect opportunity to come and spend a few days’ holiday there. “We’d been told it was the most beautiful part of Brittany!” says Philippe.
On arrival, Philippe and Patricia decided to pop into the Tourist Office to get as much information as possible for the week. They were offered the chance to create their own digital holiday guide. And they left with a well-organised itinerary: walks along the GR34, the must-see viewpoints along the coast, a boat trip around the Seven Islands, lovely beaches for swimming, tide times, and more… They also hire two electric bikes for the day to follow the Vélomaritime cycle route and explore the Pink Granite Coast from Trébeurden to Ploumanac’h.

The changeable weather didn’t put a damper on their outings, because even on grey days, Brittany has its charm!
“Always carry a rucksack with a packed lunch, a jacket and a swimsuit!”
Would you recommend the Pink Granite Coast?
Yes! And especially to those looking for beautiful scenery and peace and quiet. For them, there are plenty of exceptional walks and a wide variety of activities. And Patricia adds: “Being able to enjoy a sandwich on a rock overlooking the sea is just wow!”
What were your favourite spots?
“Everything is worth seeing,” but they’d still single out three sites:
- the lovely white sandy beach at La Grève Blanche in Trégastel, a heavenly spot for a dip in the sea
- the Pointe de Bihit in Trébeurden, a wonderful walk that’s a bit steep but didn’t faze our mountain-lovers!
- Ploumanac’h in Perros-Guirec and its granite outcrops – a truly spectacular sight!
What does the phrase ‘Cultiver l’essentiel’ mean to you?
“Cultivating the essentials means simply taking in the magnificent landscapes that unfold before us… The Pink Granite Coast is so unique and splendid!”
