Economic Tourism Weeks on the Pink Granite Coast

For a fortnight, the local businesses that make up the region’s identity will be opening their doors to you to show you their trades, their know-how and their products! Come and meet the men and women who make up the local economic fabric, at the 5th edition of the “Semaines du Tourisme Économique et des Savoir-Faire”, organised by the Fédération des Offices de Tourisme de Bretagne.

What are the economic tourism and know-how weeks?

Know-how and industrial heritage are key factors in the development and appeal of tourism. With this in mind, the Pink Granite Coast Tourist Office has decided to continue its participation in the Economic Tourism and Know-How Weeks in Brittany, from 20 October to 2 November 2025.

The aim of the event is to invite tourists and residents alike to discover or rediscover the behind-the-scenes stories of the businesses and craftspeople who make up the identity of the region and the Trégor.

The Pink Granite Coast, a land of innovation and talent

With Lannion as the economic capital of the Trégor region, the Pink Granite Coast is a major economic hub in Brittany. Revealed with the arrival of the telecoms industry in the 1960s, Lannion has contributed enormously to the economic and industrial development of the Pink Granite Coast. The town is the cradle of telecommunications and numerous digital innovations.

Today, Lannion is home to companies with national and international reputations, as well as a rich and varied network of SMEs and SMIs. Their diverse activities ensure balanced and sustainable development of the region, at the crossroads of cutting-edge technologies and growth sectors that coexist and develop. These include defence, energy, health, the environment, agri-food, shipbuilding and tourism.

A talent for sharing know-how

Here, innovation is a state of mind, and the region is home to a wealth of talented people who like to share their knowledge. That’s why you can push open the doors of companies like : the Ar Roc’h distillery, which produces spirits including gin in La Roche-Jaudy in a former wine and cider trading building, the IMPRAM printing works in Cavan, which publishes the newspaper Le Trégor and some fifty other titles, the Centre de Météorologie Spatiale – Météo-France in Lannion, the Vanille de Bretagne company, which opens its production site, the only one of its kind in Europe, in Camlez, or the Vignes de Beg Melen, which produces white and red wines in Plouguiel…

A hotbed of the arts and thought

The Pink Granite Coast is a unique and enlightened region that is home to exceptional people. Over the years, it has become a hotbed of the arts and thought, shaping the destination and contributing to its architectural and craft wealth. Tréguier, the episcopal city and former historic capital of Trégor, has a lot to do with this. But the town centres of many other communes are also alive with artists’ and craftsmen’s shops.
In fact, the coastline, and in particular the arrival of sea bathing in the 19th century, as well as the flax, slate, seaweed and stone trades, have long enabled the region to shine and attract writers, scientists, artists and craftspeople.
Even today, many passionate professionals with unique skills are happy to share the secrets of their trade and their handcrafted products. These include Pauline Le Goïc, who creates and restores stained-glass windows using traditional methods, with a modern twist; Louis Chelin, a blacksmith and cutler, who will show you all the stages involved in making a knife; and Mohair Breizh, an angora goat breeder who sells 100% made-in-France woollen clothing in her shop, as well as balls of wool for sewing enthusiasts.
