It dates back to the 14th century. It was used by the inhabitants of the hamlet until around 1960. Like all the fountains dedicated to St Jean du Temple, the Réchou fountain was reputed to cure eyes and rheumatism.
The fountain is surrounded by a large granite rubble enclosure. The pilgrims' bench is included in the enclosure. The basin is surmounted by a pediment in which a niche has been created for the statue of the Saint. Water flows from the pool into two basins before filling a washhouse below. The three stiles were used to protect the fountain and the holy water from cattle.
Free access via the ‘Hen an Ifern’ walking trail.
