Explore the Lannion market

Every vacation season, we love to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of markets like the one in Lannion and shop directly from the producers. Put an end to the hectic pace and the drive home from work… Blending in with locals and tourists, talking to producers, taking in the sights and tastes… For us, there’s no better way to discover a destination!

Lannion’s unmissable Thursday market

So here we are, on this Thursday morning, heading for the weekly market in Lannion. The biggest in the Côtes d’Armor, according to our host. You’ll see, you can find everything there!”
On his advice, we decide not to go too late, and to park on the heights of the town in the free Ursulines parking lot .

Local produce in a short circuit

With your basket under your arm, you let other strollers guide you to rue Savidan, where a succession of small producers’ stalls await you. Market gardeners, who are legion in this large vegetable production zone, proudly display their Paimpol cocos, artichokes and tomatoes.

Colors and smells of Trégor

Pancakes simmer on biligs, bacon dishes simmer in large pots, and fishermen bustle alongside oyster producers… All the best of Trégor gastronomy is at hand, and our taste buds are salivating with anticipation!

Sensory immersion in the heart of the historic city

We let ourselves be tempted by artichokes. Since the beginning of our stay, we’ve seen their heads popping out of the fields at the side of the road! A producer of organic ewe’s milk cheeses approaches us, and we’re convinced by the tasting. Hop, into the basket, like the freshly caught mackerel that caught our eye under the covered market.

A break on the terrace

On Place du Centre, we settle down on the terrace of a café at the foot of some magnificent half-timbered houses. I love this atmosphere, the smells from here and there, the rumor of the growing crowd mingling with the tirades of the hawkers and the notes played by a few musicians…

Gifts “made in Breizh

Then our quest for souvenirs takes us to a small designer boutique and a salted butter caramel maker. We make our way back down to the quayside, enjoying a galette-saucisse as we stroll among the hawkers selling knick-knacks and clothes. Our host is right, you really can find everything!
We rest for a while on a bench in front of the Léguer river before setting off again, full and sated by this very pleasant sensory experience.

The charm of the Lannion market is its terroir and heritage! And a basket full of local flavors.
