The program
Step 1
La Roche Derrien
Little City of CharacterBefore you hop on your bike for an unforgettable ride, immerse yourself in the fascinating history of La Roche-Derrien with the La Roche 3D app. Follow in the footsteps of knights and druids through the picturesque streets of this Petite Cité de Caractère, and discover its hidden treasures like never before.
For this fun family activity, visit the town hall during opening hours to borrow a tablet.

Step 2
Hengoat
Commune du Patrimoine Rural de BretagneHengoat is a land of water, and it’s everywhere: two flax mills, a fountain, a stream. The site is a reminder of the flax industry’s past, and bears witness to the traces it has left in the Trégorroise countryside. The fountain was reputed to help children walk.
Shortly afterwards, you come to the village of Hengoat via the Calvary of Keringant, from where you can enjoy a lovely view of the town. Here, the bocage has been preserved, with small plots, hedges and woodland giving the countryside a bucolic feel. Thanks to the richness and preservation of its heritage, Hengoat has been awarded the“Commune du Patrimoine Rural de Bretagne” label. The Saint Maudez fountain, the wash-house and the imposing Beaumanoir-style church with its bell tower flanked by a turret are well worth a visit.

Step 3
Vergers de Keravalon
At the Kervoulc’h crossroads, turn right towards the Bizien valley to reach the Keravalon orchards. By appointment, you can visit the orchard and access the direct sales area.
In autumn, let yourself be tempted by picking in the orchard!
Step 4
Pouldouran
Commune du Patrimoine Rural de BretagneThe day’s cycling continues through the Bizien valley to the picturesque village of Pouldouran. The estuary was once home to a port for goémoniers (seaweed harvesters). They would collect this “fertilizer” at the mouth of the Jaudy to fertilize the fields.
Don’t miss a visit to the Maison des talus et des routoirs à lin, an exhibition space dedicated to the bocage and the restoration work carried out by the Skol ar C’hleuziou association. Several hiking trails also invite you to discover the talus and routoirs that dot the countryside and valley bottoms.

Step 5
Baie Sainte Anne
Continue your walk in this sheltered area in a meander of the Jaudy, a haven for many birds. The perfect opportunity to get out the binoculars and try your hand at spotting them!
Belon shelduck, grey heron, osprey, little egret – will you recognize them?
Step 6
Bili Gwenn Mill
The next stop on your itinerary is this former tide mill, which is open to visitors in summer and also hosts cultural events and exhibitions. In addition to the charm of its surroundings, it’s remarkable for the sheer quantity of machinery on display, almost as if it were ready to be restarted despite having been shut down since 1989.

Step 7
Distillerie ar Roc'h
Back in La Roche-Derrien, why not plan a visit to Distillerie Ar Roc’h? It’s the perfect opportunity to explore the creations of Sébastien, a passionate producer on a perpetual quest for a balance of flavors, harmoniously evoking “the iodine of the seaside and the mineral side of the granite soil of Trégor”.
Located in a building steeped in history, once the haunt of a wine merchant from La Roche-Derrien, the distillery offers much more than a simple tasting. Immerse yourself in the region’s fascinating past as you learn about the distillation process. The enchanting aromas emanating from the distillery will captivate your senses, offering a unique sensory experience in the heart of Brittany.
